Will Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118369 Fit On 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I recently ordered a part #20135 for my 2004 jeep grand Cherokee, i received the part and it wasn't quite what i expected, i knew my jeep had a connector behind the rear kick panel for trailer wiring, i assumed this was the connector referred to as the 7 pin connector, but the kit i bought doesn't plug into that nor would it even be long enough if i did, i currently have something very similar to part #118369 mounted and plugged in for the 4 pin flat connector. I was wondering if i could buy the convertor from what i have to what i need for the 7/4 pin connector kit i bought, or if i am better off doing a custom type hookup.

It sounds like, for your setup, you will need a 7-way adapter. I recommend the Installation Kit for 7-Way and 4-Way Wiring # ETBC7. This kit includes everything you will need for a 7-way and gives you the option for installing a trailer brake controller if you need one down the road. I have provided a link to a video review of this product and a link to a video showing the typical installation of this item.
I have also included a link to our FAQ page on the ETBC7.
The Tow Ready T-One Connector Assembly # 20135 will work only with a vehicle that came with a factory-installed 7-way.
If you would like to protect your connections on this harness, you might be interested in the Plews & Edelmann Dielectric Grease # 11755. It helps prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture and protects bulbs, sockets, t-connector plugs, and trailer connections.
