How Hot is Too Hot for Trailer Hubs
Question:
I’ve got a gatermade gooseneck trailer with 10k oil bath hubs and I have one hub that’s getting up to around 130 degrees and the others are around 110 to 115 degrees would you all happen to know if that’s normal?

Expert Reply:
That sounds within the normal range. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hubs are known to get hot. Especially ones as high capacity as you have. A lot of time hubs are between 150 and 160 and we tell people not to really worry unless it over 200.
