Adapter Needed For Alternative Frame Bikes On A Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack

Question:

Only one product photo available for this item and the customer photos appear to actually be for the DoubleTrack Pro 2. I have a Mazda3 hatchback with a class 1, 1/4inch tow bar which I bought from you. Because of the hatchback, I would prefer to get a platform bike rack that has the tilt-away feature. Between the two DoubleTracks, that would be the Pro XT. However, Im concerned about the clamping mechanism on the Pro XT. My wife has a womens bike frame the top tube slopes down, pretty much parallel to the bottom tube. Would the locking mechanism on the Pro XT be able to secure her bike? If not, do you have any platform rack recommendations that would work for that type of bike? My specs are a Mazda 3 with a class 1, 1/4inch receiver. Id really like a tilt-away too. Thanks

To lock down your wife's step through frame bike on the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ you'll just need an adapter like the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Electric, Step Through, and Cruiser Bikes Item # S57FR. The quick-release hooks clamp around your bike's seat post and handlebar's stem post so that the ratcheting hooks have something to grip onto.
