What Hitch Reducer and Locking Hitch Pin Do You Recommend for a Curt 5 Bike Rack on a 3-Inch Hitch?

Question:

I bought the Curt 5 bike carrier from you and just got it. It is for a 2inch hitch. I realized my RV now has a 3inch hitch receiver. What should I buy to downconvert it and what locking pin would work to go through both that and the threaded Curt 2 inch hitch mount?

In order to use the Curt 5 Bike Rack - 2" # C18065 on your 3-inch hitch on your RV, I recommend the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # C45408. The reducer will allow you to use the Curt 5 Bike Rack with your 3-inch hitch receiver.

As for as a compatible pin and lock that will work for both the hitch, the reducer, and the rack, I confirmed with my contact at Curt that the pinhole diameter of these accessories is 5/8". With that being said, I recommend the Fastway Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - 2", 2-1/2", and 3" Hitches # FA86-00-3160. This locking hitch pin has a length of 3-5/8 inches, which will be enough room for your accessories.
