Can Blue Ox Base Plates Work with a Roadmaster Blackhawk Tow Bar on a 2013 Chevy Traverse
Question:
Will my Blackhawk All Terain Tow Bar work with Blue Ox Base Plates? We are purchasing a 2013 Chevy Traverse and it looks like roadmaster does not make a baseplate for it! I have a roadmaster blackhawk 10,000 lb tow bar and would like to use it...hard to believe Roadmaster does not make a base plate kit for a 2013 Traverse!

You can use your Roadmaster Blackhawk tow bar # RM-422 with Blue Ox base plates if you use adapter # RM-031. In addition to the tow bar and base plates, you will need safety cables like # RM-653.
Next you will need a lighting solution. You can use a simple kit that attaches in the gap above the hatch like # RM-2120.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest systems to set up and use are portable systems like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. It applies the Traverse brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles. You will also need the # RM-9332 to power the system.
Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine the proper flat towing procedure. I have included some helpful links on flat towing for you.
