How Tight Should Dutton Lainson StrongArm Winch Be On Winch Plate

Question:

How tight should the tw9000 Strongarm electric winch fit on the mounting plate? The only way I can get in to attach is by using wood block and a hammer with several hard hammer blows to move it onto the pins.

Helpful Expert Reply:

It's possible that the holes on your Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25215 are slightly off sized/off center by a manufacturing error, or the # DL24055 plate is slightly off, but the fit on the plate should be tight and fully secure the winch. You don't want the winch to move around, so as long as it's secure it should not have any issues.
