You can add an aftermarket rack to your vehicle. Your rack will consist of the;
Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum - Silver - 47" Long - Qty 2, part # TH711200
Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars - Factory Raised Rails - Qty 4, part # TH710401, and the
Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4, part # TH450400.
This rack has a weight limit of 130lbs. You will not remove your existing crossbars. This rack comes with elliptical crossbars. These crossbars help with wind noise and fuel efficiency. The bars have a t-channel that allow you to attach channel mounted accessories, but the crossbars still work with accessories that clamp to the crossbars. You can also lock the rack to your vehicle with the Thule lock cylinders. You can use a longer crossbar, just keep in mind that adding the longer crossbar will add some overhang to your rack and you cannot choose a crossbar length that will extend beyond your rear view mirror. However, the longer crossbars will allow you more flexibility with what you carry on your roof.
I suggest using a kayak rack and bike racks that give you the greatest flexibility. The kayak rack I recommend is the Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier, part # TH830. This stacker allows you to carry from one to four kayaks on your roof. This stacker comes with two cam straps and two bow and stern straps. My bike rack suggestion is the Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount - Clamp On or Channel Mount - Aluminum, part # TH599000. This is one of my favorite roof type bike carriers. It clamps to the crossbars, so you do not have to remove any wheels for this rack to work.
If you do go with the Thule UpRide you will need a six pack of locks instead of four. That part number is, part # TH450600.
I have included product description links and video review links below.
