Will My Battery Voltage Being 13.6 Volts Harm This 12 Volt Roof Fan?

Question:

I have seen many reviews online saying this is a problem and recommending voltage regulators in-line at the fan wiring as they were not designed to have voltage higher than 12v. It seems odd as even lead acid batteries are above 12v when fully charged. Some say they have no issues, others say they do and MaxxFan recommended voltage regulators at one time. Will cutting the 12v power using a battery disconnect switch harm this fan?

I have never seen the slight voltage difference of a fully charged battery cause an issue with the boards on the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07000K. RV's and campers use these fans in them everyday with no issues. Their batteries are constantly being charged by the convertor when they are plugged in at the campsite. I would think that if there was an issue with this that all the new units would have the regulators built in otherwise every unit would need them installed.

You will need the Roof Vent Installation Kit # 344270KITW for the installation of the vent. It provides you with new Butyl Tape, hardware and sealant for the new vent.

Cutting the 12 volt power to the fan will not harm the fan. Several RV's and campers have battery disconnects that do this exact function.
