Why Does Draw Tite Hitch # 75684 Have Two Different Weight Capacities Listed

On my 2012 kia Sorento wat is the weight distribution on the hitch one said the tounge weight max is 350lbs n the other said 500lbs if u have the weight distribution I have a 4 cyl engine

The Draw Tite hitch part # 75684 has two different sets of towing capacities based on if you are using a weight distribution system like the part # RP66082 or not.
Maximum gross trailer weight: 3,500 lbs
Maximum GTW when used with weight distribution: 5,000 lbs
Maximum tongue weight: 350 lbs
Maximum TW when used with weight distribution: 500 lbs
A weight distribution system uses spring bar leverage to allow some of the trailer tongue weight to be moved up to the front axle which reduces some of the weight carried at the hitch and basically gives you more weight carrying capacity.
