Recommended Trailer Hitch and 4-Bike Rack for 2020 Honda Odyssey w/ Hands-Free Liftgate

Question:

Hi, will the etraielr Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98855 still allow my hands free liftgate feature function after installation? My car is 2020 Honda Odyssey touring. If this hitch fits, is there any recommended bike rack for carrying 4 bikes. My main concern is the rack might be too close to the bumper. Thank you so much for your help.

The etrailer Class III hitch, part # e98855 will not prevent the hands-free liftgate from working, but the receiver tube will block the pickup sensors located in the middle of the vehicle. If you wave your foot to either side of the receiver, away from the center of the vehicle, the sensors will register the movement and the hands-free feature will work.

The most popular 4-bike rack among Honda Odyssey owners is hands-down the Thule # TH934XTR Hitching Post Pro. This rack is VERY highly rated by our customers, I've linked to a video showing it being test fit on a Honda Odyssey. As you can see, it fits very nicely and will have tons of clearance between the bumper and the rack's vertical upright. The rack includes an anti-rattle hitch pin, a locking version is available separately as part # THSTL2.
