How To Install Vehicle Wiring Harness Of 2013 Cadillac XTS
Question:
I have been trying to install a trailer wiring kit on my 2013 Cadillac XTS using a Curt 59190 wiring kit with no success. I cant get the lights to function properly, Im assuming this isnt compatible with my car? If it isnt, would wiring kit C59236 work? Thanks

The Curt 59190 you have should work as it is designed for vehicles with separate wiring like your 2013 Cadillac XTS, so I recommend double checking the way you have the harness wired.
You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to identify the wiring functions of your vehicle.
You will need to identify the following functions on your factory wiring and make the following connections:
Red wire gets connected to the brake light wire
Green wire gets connected to the passenger turn signal wire
Yellow wire gets connected to the driver turn signal wire
Brown wire gets connected to the tail light wire
White wire gets grounded to the frame of your XTS
Lastly the black wire will need to get run to the positive terminal of your battery with the included fuse.
Once these connections are made the harness should work correctly. If it is still not working I recommend checking the input side of the module for power. If there is power going into the module but not coming out you have a bad module and will need to replace the harness.
If this is the case then I recommend the # C59236 as it is confirmed to fit your vehicle.
I included a video of the # C59236 being installed for you to take a look at.
