Installing An Adjustable Hitch Receiver On A 2021 Forest River Salem Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a new Forest River Salem 22RBS and would like to mount on the rear bumper safely two Cruiser bicycles. I have read that the welded seals on the bumper crack very easy under certain type of weight. I do already have a tire carrier attached to my bumper. Their is a sticker on the bumper states any non factory installed items can void the warranty. Im checking my options what I can do so Im looking for some advice.

The bumpers on an RV/motorhome are normally not rated to tow anything or carry anything remotely heavy. Instead what you need is a new trailer hitch receiver added on to your trailer. I recommend the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver - 18"-51" Wide - 2" Drop - Class III - 2" Item # C13701 if the distance between your frame falls between 18" to 51". If not let me know and I can find another option to fit your trailer.
You'll also want to make sure you have a bike rack that is rated for use on the back of a travel trailer. If you can provide the weight of your bikes and whether or not they are "fat" tires then I can find the correct rack for you.
