Recommendations For Carrying 2 Adult Bikes and 4 Kids Bikes On a Travel Trailer

Question:

Hi! Hoping you can help with a solution for 6 bikes 2 adult size, 4 kids bikes? We tow a 36ft travel trailer gvwr=9000lbs with a 2000 ford excursion. I know bike racks for 6 bikes are few and far between, but was hoping to at least get 4 of them mounted somewhere outside the trailer. Looking at this product, but it says the max trailer weight is 7000lbs I think. Do you have something like this that will work with a heavier trailer, or any other solution Im not thinking of? Thank you!

I have a better solution for you, the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers # LC429756 will attach to the front of your travel trailer using the same bolts that hold the tongue jack. This will hold 2 bikes up to 80lbs total on the front of your camper above the propane tanks.

If that type of connection will not work for your trailer jack, the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier # CC-275 will bolt to the trailers frame and allow you to use a hitch mounted bike rack above the trailers a-frame. This will allow for 100lbs of bike and rack capacity.

For the 4 kids bikes you should consider using a Swagman 4 Bike Rack # S64940 on the back of the travel trailer. The Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver for 4" x 4" Bumpers # UF35-946401 will allow you to use the receiver hitch style trailer bike rack on your 4" steel bumper on the back of your travel trailer. If you do not have a 4" bumper we do have other options, just let me know what bumper if any that you do have and I will find you the correct adapter.
