Transporting A Second Kayak On A Thule Wingbar Or Stacker

Question:

Hi, I installed a Thule Wingbar 53 inch on my 2019 Honda CRV bare roof. Wondering after installing Thule Hull-a-Port XT, other than B positioninch shown on the attached photo, would it be better for the second kayak to lay flat on top of the crossbar? If so, shall I put the second kayak upside down? Shall I put any foam block on top of the crossbar first? And, any recommendation if I need the foam block? By the way, I just bought two Pelican Mustang kayaks width: 30. Thank you.

You will be fine transporting your second kayak on the stacker. It is a recreational kayak, so it will be fine on its side. It will also save you from purchasing a second accessory. But if you want to transport your kayak laying flat you will only be limited by the space available on your crossbars. I would transport your 2nd kayak on its hull because it makes loading the kayak on the roof easier, especially without a 2nd person. You should not transport it directly on top of your crossbars.

The Malone Deluxe Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Foam Block Style - 18" Long, part # MPG152, will fit your kayaks. Each foam pad has a cutout that goes around your crossbar. Then the kayak sits, centered, on top of the carrier. This product comes with the bow and stern straps needed to secure the boat to the front and rear of your vehicle. It also has cam straps to secure the kayak to your roof rack.

I have included a product description link and a product review link below.
