Air Conditioners For Houseboat With Heat & Ducting
Question:
I am building a 45x14foot houseboat and need to install AC units. I would like one of the units to be ducted to go to the master bedroom and the bathroom... but the other can be ductless for the mainroom/kitchen. I would like a heat pump or heating strips which is better for cold nights on the lake? and a thermostat. A low profile is preferred, but not required. Oh, and I need it by June 3rd. HELP!!

Our new air conditoner units should work as well on a travel trailer as a houseboat. They are both designed for travel vibration and humid conditions.
I think my first concern would be for electrical amperage draw. I can only assume you will be running off of a generator, so it will be of benefit to have a/c units with soft start capacitors.
The Atwood # AT15033-22 rooftop air conditioner (in black) is designed for ducted systems, includes a heat pump, runs on about 14 amps, and requires a dedicated 20 amp circuit. For white order # AT15028-22.
For the non-ducted unit you should consider the Advent # ACM150BCH rooftop air conditoner (in black) with start capacitor and heat strip already built in. Unit draws 15 amps. For white order # ACM150CH.
If you need units with less amperage (less cooling) please email me back for a refined recommendation.
