EBike Rack Recommendation For A 2006 Honda CR-V

Question:

Will the rack interfere with the rear-mounted spare tire when it is tilted up for transport with no bikes? Will the inside bike interfere with the spare tire? Please ignore the existing spare+tire rack! I just bought an ebike, so I’m looking for a hitch-mounted rack. Hitch to be installed soon! I intend to leave the bike rack on all of the time, and I want a rack that folds up when not in use and allows the rear door to open when no bikes are on. Will it work with my car? If not, do you have a better suggestion?

To handle the weight of an ebike you'll have to have a class III hitch installed rated for atleast 350lbs. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13535.

The Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S94FR will fold up out of the way and will allow you to open the rear hatch. The distance from center of hitch pin hole to the closest part of rack when folded down is 15-1/2" so you'll have plenty of room for your spare tire.
