Will SumoSprings SSR-117-47 Have Smoother Unloaded Ride Then Timbrens On 2012 Ford F-150?
Question:
I have a 2012 F150 work truck that currently has Timbrens on the rear axle that were placed to allow a heavy trailer to be towed. I no longer tow, however my truck is usually carrying about 500lbs in the bed with tools and topper/cap and loaded up higher on occasion. The Timbrens are knocking the fillings out of my teeth and Im wondering if the Sumosprings are a better option? Since Im not maxing out my rear suspension Im just looking to have something to help with sag when I go over my normalinch weight or add a small trailer on the back. Is there a dramatic difference between the Timbrens and Sumosprings? Im not necessarily looking to eliminate the sag in the rear end but give it some backup when I need to add pounds on occasion. Am I going to just be replacing one rubber bumper for another that will still rattle my teeth? Thanks

Expert Reply:
For your 2012 Ford F-150 I recommend replacing your Timbrens with the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-117-47 which have a 1500lb load rating.
The Timbrens are known for causing a rougher ride unloaded, where the SumoSprings will not affect your unloaded ride due to them being quite a bit softer, and being progressive meaning they don't start get stiff until you add quite a bit of weight like towing a trailer.
I included a video of the # SSR-117-47 being installed for you to take a look at.
