Troubleshooting Recharge Light on Hopkins Breakaway Kit Staying On When Trailer Is Disconnected

My recharge light stays on my breakaway box even when I have nothing hooked up to the trailer when I hook up everything works fine my switch intermittently blinks when I pull the plug on the switch it lights red as it works properly

There is two possible causes making the light on your Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit w/ Built-In Charger - Side Load - 7" Wire # 20099 to stay on even when the trailer is disconnected.
The first is if you have the # 20099 wired to an on-board battery on your trailer it is likely feeding the breakaway battery, and you will need to install a diode # RM-690 to fix this.
If there is no on-board battery on your trailer then the circuit board has an internal issue and you will need to replace the entire assembly using # 20099.
