Is It Normal For Tekonsha Prodigy P3 To Be On Any Time Truck Is On Even If No Trailer is Connected?
Question:
Is the P3 display supposed to stay on all the time even though no trailer is connected? Mine does go to sleep when the truck is off, when when truck is running, the display is always on. Did I get faulty one? I do have the 3015-P adapter so wiring should be bullet proof. Controller works perfectly other than that display.

Your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is working exactly as it should. The display will be on anytime it senses movement, and will only go to sleep when it does not detect movement for 15 minutes or more.
The reason for this is if the controller was completely turned off it would not be able to store your settings, and you would need to readjust the controller every time you were ready to tow a trailer.
I included a video of the # 90195 for you to take a look at.
