Can 215/75-14 Tire Mount on 14 x 5-1/2 Inch Wheel

Question:

I have 215/75/14 tires on my brand new trailer. The spec on this Carlisle tire says its a 14x6. I want to upgrade the ugly steel wheels to some nice aluminum ones. It seems 99 of the aluminum wheels out there are 14x5.5 ....not 14x6. Can I safely run the 14x5.5 wheels on my trailer ? I am considering your Aluminum Sendel Series T02 Machined Trailer Wheel - 14" x 5-1/2" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 Item # AM22329 Is this a sound purchase ?? Many thanks all !

A 215/75-14 tire can be safely mounted on a 5-1/2, 6, 6-1/2 or 7 inch wide wheel, so your current tires would work perfectly on a 14 x 5-1/2 inch wheel like the # AM22329 HWT Aluminum Sendel Series T02 wheels you'd mentioned.

I used these wheels on my PWC trailer years ago, they really dress up the looks of a trailer compared to the standard white powder coated steel spoke wheels. The wheels don't include tire stems which we offer as part # AM20903. If you need lug nuts, we offer some nice chrome plated lug nuts as part # 12CLN.
