Will the Tekonsha T-One 7-Way for 2015 Honda Pilot Activate Reverse Lockout on Boat Trailer
Question:
I installed T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector Item # 118265 on my honda pilot, I bought a 2021 shorelander trailer with surge brakes. Will this connector let the trailer know when Im reversing so I dont need to put in the override pin manually on the trailer? Thanks in advance.

Expert Reply:
Yes. The center pin on the Tekonsha # 118265 will correspond to the reverse light circuit, which should activate any surge brake actuator that has an electric lockout feature and allow you to reverse the trailer without the brakes activating. If your surge brake actuator does not have an electric lockout feature though you'll still need to manually lockout the brakes when backing up.
