Recommended Roof Rack for 2020 Toyota Camry
Question:
We are trying to decide which roof rack system — the Yakima roof rack system using Yakima JetStream Crossbars or the Thule roof rack system using the WingBar Evo Crossbars — would best meet our needs for our 2020 Toyota Camry. We are looking for quietness, ease of use and durability. From what we’ve read, the Yakima appears to perhaps be more quiet, whereas the Thule appears to have greater ease of use, and both seem to offer nice durability. We would appreciate your input on the two systems to help us decide which system to choose. Thank you for your efforts to help us. Sincerely

I'll start off by saying that wind noise depends on a number of factors, but most roof racks are going to have a certain degree of noise associated with them regardless of a manufacturer. Additionally, comparing Yakima and Thule racks is a lot like comparing Nike and Adidas; they're both very high quality systems and I don't believe there's going to be any significant difference in the ease of installation or use since they're both going to have similar parts with different designs.
With all of that said, I do recommend using the Thule Roof Rack for 2020 Toyota Camry that uses parts # TH711400, # TH710501 and # TH145082 because the 53" long bars are going to give you just a bit more bar space than the 50" bars in the Yakima roof rack system for your Camry. I do recommend adding locks to your Evo clamp towers with part # TH450400, which gives you 4 lock cores to keep everything secured to your vehicle. If you'd like to reduce some of the potential wind noise a wind fairing like the AirScreen XT for Thule Crossbars - 44" Long # TH82WV is a great choice to add to this system and will help a lot!
I've linked a review video of this system for you to check out, but it really comes down to the extra bar space being a bonus when it comes to carrying a roof box plus maybe a bike carrier or something else. If you need any assistance choosing the correct accessories just let me know what you're looking for and I'm happy to help with that as well.
