Highest Ground Clearance Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2021 Honda Odyssey
Question:
I have a 2021 Honda Odyssey EX-L and looking for a hitch that has the best ground clearance. This is because of my driveway being on at a steep angled hill to the roadbed and in the past I have had problems with the hitch dragging the pavement on the road when backing down the driveway. I was looking at the E98855 hitch but is the one with highest clearance to the road?

The Class III hitch with the best ground clearance for a 5th generation Honda Odyssey like your 2021 model would be the Curt # C64NR which would provide about 12 inches of ground clearance under the receiver tube. This hitch would also be the least visible and would have the crossbar tucked up behind the bumper/fascia. This adds to the installation difficulty but really helps provide additional ground clearance (1-1/2 inches more clearance than the # e98855 that you'd looked at).
In addition to the hitch, you might also find using a roller like # UF48-979020 to be helpful. The roller installs around the receive tube and is held in place by a standard hitch pin like # PC3. When backing out your driveway, the roller will take the brunt of the impact, and will roll rather than drag and scrape which would damage your hitch.
