Can the Cross Bars of a Sportrack Roof Rack for the 2012 Ford Fusion Be Trimmed
Question:
Can the crossbars be cut once they are fit to my vehicle? Can the system be left on the roof permanently or does it need to be taken off?

You can cut cross bars if you determine that there is excess on either side of the foot pads. You will want to make sure you make the cut as square as possible so that the end caps install as securely as possible.
A lot of people leave there roof racks on their roofs permanently. I would recommend you remove the rack every couple months to clean the surface where the rack sits on your roof and the foot pads of the rack to ensure that any debris that might make its way between the rack and the roof of your vehicle will not scratch your roof.
