Weight Distribution Hitch With Sway Control For A Trailer Tongue Weight Of 460lbs Unloaded
Question:
Hi, I have an unloaded TW of 460, so looking in the 600 range after the trailer is loaded. Currently I have the old style add on friction bar for sway control, but still my biggest problem is sway. Debating between the Curt C17499 or C17500, and the Equalizer EQ37061ET. I realize the Equalizer does not have a shank. Do you have any comments or suggestions to help me choose?

For your 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, out of the three, I would go with the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System Item # C17500. If you go with a hitch that has a max of 600lb to 800lbs and your trailer tongue weight is 460 unloaded, when you load the trailer and add anything in the back of the vehicle you don't want to be close on maxing out the hitch. I always recommend going with a hitch with a higher weight rating than your trailer. That way you can load the trailer as needed and add any gear in the vehicle and not overload the hitch.
This hitch comes with everything and has a high enough weight rating if you had to tow the trailer completely loaded along with your tanks full and the vehicle loaded, you wouldn't have to worry about over loading the hitch. It has sway control and allows backing up with the trunnion bars on.
