2011 Volkswagen CC Low Profile Style Tire Chains
Question:
We have a 2011 VW CC with 235/45 R17 tires. We are going to an area that requires chains. The owners manual says that snow chains may be use only on the following tire and rim combinations: 205/30 R17 and 6 1/2 J x 17 ET 39, yet your website sells chains for 235/45 R17. What do we do?

Expert Reply:
To stay legal you will want to get chains. The concern is the limited amount of room in your wheel well but we want you to stay legal. I recommend getting low profile chains like the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW1038. These will increase your traction with the lowest profile style chain.
