Trailer Hitch Receiver Options for 1963 Volkswagen Bus
Question:
Do you have a rear bolt on hitch for a 1963 VW Bus?

Expert Reply:
There may be an option for a trailer hitch receiver for your 1963 VW bus, but there are no bolt-on hitches that will fit this vehicle. The only potential option is a weld-on hitch that can attach to your frame brackets, with the right one depending on the width between the brackets. These hitches have crosstubes which measure either 44" or 62" and install with weld-on brackets that are either 7" tall or 16" tall.
- 44" Crosstube: Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver - 16" Brackets # # 41990-16 or 7" Brackets # 41990-07
The only other option if you are looking to carry cargo with your VW is a vacuum-cup roof rack, the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack # 298-SX6000B.
