Curt Ball Mount for 1-1/4 inch Hitch with More Rise and Length than C45520
Question:
Need a Class I or II drawbar with greater rise and length. Curt C45520 is about 2 too little rise and barely long enough. Curt C45014 is only slightly longer. Can I use a longer drawbar Curt C45015 to eliminate any questions about clearance? Trailer is lightweight abt 500 lb, 50lb tongue wt.

Expert Reply:
The two Curt ball mounts you mentioned of part # C45014 and # C45015 are both options that would give you additional rise with the # C45015 being a few inches longer as well than compared to the # C45520 that you have now.
Now these options only can be used on Class II hitches whereas the # C45520 can fit Class I or Class II so you'd need to verify that with the hitch of your vehicle. The reason for this is that the Class I hitches are lower in capacity so they can be only used with the ball mount they have been tested with.
