Can the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for a 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon Be Secured Outside the Vehicle
Question:
Can this trailer wiring hookup be mounted so that the plug is on the outside of the vehicle next to the hitch? Is there additional hardware availble that will allow external routing? T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # 118467

Yes, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118467 which is a fit for a 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon can be installed so that the trailer connector is secured outside to the trailer hitch. I don't have exact instructions on this but it's something we do in the shop all the time. There is going to be a grommet/plug in the bottom of the spare tire well (with tire removed) that you can cut a slit it. Once this is done, cut the bonded 4-wire harness a few feet or so from the converter box. Then, you can take the other end with the connector and feed it back through said grommet/plug from the bottom. I recommend using part # DW05744-5 to reattach the wires as well as part # 18140 and part # 18144 to secure the trailer connector to the trailer hitch.
