Troubleshooting Tekonsha Brake Controller Adapter That Wont Fit on 2019 Nissan Pathfinder

Question:

I order the #3050-P brake controller adapter for my 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The adapter is generally the right shape, etc. But there are distinct differences which keep it from mating. . Because the the limited space under the dash its hard to say but the width of the adapter may be ever so slightly different. I have look several times and can find no other unused plugs on the wiring harness and especially not one right where the directions say it should be. How can I resolve this, is it the correct part for 2019 Pathfinder, could Nissan have changed the wiring harness? Your help would be very much appreciated.

It looks like you've got the correct harness and we haven't seen any issues like this, but I can definitely help you out there. What I would do, on the factory plug that you've got, is take a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 and apply it to the each of the pins. You should have one pin that is constantly supplying power and one that is hot only when the brake pedal is pressed. I would start there and see what you come up with, just to make sure that you have the correct plug.

We have noted that Nissan Titan XE's often will have different plugs on them that would require hard-wiring in your brake controller, but we have not seen this in a Nissan Pathfinder. Let me know what you find and I can continue to troubleshoot this issue with you.
