Measuring the Front and Rear Bar Stay Dimensions for Inno Roof Rack on 2009 Scion xB

Question:

I purchased all 3 parts for my Scions bare roof and was looking over the instructions last night because I am hoping to install these myself. The first thing confused me and it was about the crossbars and needing to mark them Finch Front and Rinch Rear. They are both the same length so I dont understand and in the installation video nothing is said about this except that the front one is using the wider side. Thank you in advance!

I have the exact measurements to fit the Inno Roof Rack with part numbers # INXB153-2 (or # INXB123-2), # INXS250 ( or # INXS200), and # INK300 on your 2009 Scion xB. It sounds like the confusion comes from how there are different install instructions for the different parts and they must be used simultaneously.

What will help you out here is the install guide for your fit kit # INK300. These are the clamps and pads that were designed specifically for your 2009 Scion xB. What you're looking for is the stay interior dimensions. These show how far apart your feet need to be installed on your front and rear bars. Lucky for you, the Scion xB has a box-like roof and the dimensions are almost the same for both. Other vehicles are more obviously wider on one side so the designation for front and rear bar is extra important for them.

Measuring from the middle point of the bar:
For the front, your stays need to be out 23.5" /597mm
For the rear, your stays need to be out 23.6"/601mm

As you can see, there's barely a difference between the two, but that's what the F and R designations are for.
