For your 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed, there are a few options for 5th wheel trailer hitch mounting kits, both custom and universal. For starters, there are 2 custom fit options that I think would work best for your truck. First we have kit # RP50066-58. This kit has custom brackets that will install on the outsides of the frame rails of the truck which you can see in the installation instructions I have linked for you. I have also included a link to a video showing a typical installation.
The next custom option is # RP56001-53. The main difference between these two custom kits is that this one uses the extended-length rails to make installation a little easier. I have included links to the instructions for it as well. Both of these kits cut installation time nearly in half when compared to a universal kit. There is much less drilling involved as well which is part of the reason installation does not take as long.
For a universal installation kit you can use # RP30035. The L-brackets in this kit fit many trucks but you will need to do more drilling and it takes nearly twice as long to install. The trade off is that the universal kit costs less. Pricing for any of these kits can be viewed by clicking on the links I have provided.
