Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock # THSTL2 Compatibility with Sportworks Bike Rack
Question:
We have a 20 year old Sportworks bike rack. This rack was bought from Sportworks by Thule 15 years ago. Will the STL2 hitch pin work with it? What is the diameter of the pin?

The Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 features a 1/2" pin diameter and is compatible with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, however it is meant to be used with Thule hitch mounted racks. Most bike racks require a brand specific pin because they are threaded and the threads are usually different between bike racks. Since your Sportworks bike rack is older, none of these brand-specific bike rack hitch pin locks are guaranteed to fit your bike rack. I also reached out to Thule to see if they are aware of this hitch lock's compatibility with older Sportworks bike racks, and they said you have to check your bike rack to verify compatibility.
If you are just looking for an option to lock up your bike to your hitch-mounted bike rack for security, I recommend our etrailer 10' Long Cable Lock # e98891. Its 10' length ensures it will fit around your bike and is made from durable 5/16" braided steel cable.
