Furrion Camera Not Getting Enough Power from Trailer Connector on 2019 Ford F250 to Operate

Question:

I have had issues with receiving signal to backup camera from my RV tow vehicle. It is a 2019 ford f250. Will this 7 way furion adapter eliminate the loss of signal. Pulling a 42 foot 5th wheel.

That is exactly what the adapter was designed to do.

The Furrion # FR87PR is designed to provide the proper amount of voltage on the running lamp circuit of the 7-way so a camera system will receive enough power to operate reliably. Ford and GM 2019 models seem to have this issue.

There's also now a more permanent solution, which is splicing in the PWM Filter # VGR64VR behind the camera to provide a steady current to the camera and clear up the signal issues.

I have a 2021 F250 and a 2022 Solitude 310 GKR. The Furrion camera works for a few miles on each trip, then it loses signal. I have discovered that my 30 amp mini fuse in the truck has blown each time (running lights circuit). Any suggestions?

@GregB Are you using the # FR87PR adapter?

@MikeL No, I am not using the adapter. Will it work for my setup? Thanks, Greg Beck

@GregB It will. The # FR87PR will ensure that Ford's 'smart' trailer connector provides a constant, consistent 12V power feed so the camera system won't drop out.
