Replacement Manual Step for 2005 Jayco Greyhawk Class C

Question:

We have a 2005 Jayco , greyhawk.class c motorhome . We are having trouble with the motorized step and were seriously considering a change to a manual step . Which manual step would you recommend that would fit this unit and hopefully line up with existing holes ? It is a 2 step unit . Does an r v repair shop need to be hired or can it be a DYI ? Any advice appreciated . Thank you

We do not have a database that tells us what steps are on your 2005 Jayco Greyhawk Class C, but the Lippert Manual Pull-Out Step for RVs # LC432682 are 24-1/4" wide, so as long as your door opening is around that size these would be a good option. These can either be welded or bolted onto your trailer frame, and they should be relatively easy to install.

With that said, I recommend instead going with the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps, which are a 2 step setup designed for entry heights between 22"-28" tall. If you have a door frame width of 26" - 29-7/8, you'll want the 26" - 29-7/8" Wide RV Door Frames part # LC733931 or part # LC713662 for 24" wide door frames. I like that these make contact with the ground, so it's going to be a more stable when getting in and out of your coach. Plus, these store up in the coach, so they're always going to be protected from damage and they easily bolt onto the entry, so you'd be able to install them yourself with relative ease.

I've linked a review video that shows more about how these steps work for you to have a look at. I recommend measuring the entry height as well as the width of your door frame to choose the correct SolidStep, but feel free to send over your measurements over if you'd like confirmation on the correct steps.
