Can a Reverse Lockout Solenoid Be Added to an Actuator That Does Not Have a Lockout Solenoid

can you add reverse lock out to this unit. the t4830300 disc brake actuator. if so what part number do i order with the t4830300. thanks

Yes, you can add a solenoid valve to your brake actuator on your trailer to prevent the brakes from locking up when in reverse as long as you have the standard 3/16 inch brake lines on your trailer. You will need a
Replacement Solenoid Valve # T4748800.

This valve will attach between the master cylinder and your brake line and it will wire into the reverse light circuit on your trailer. Once your vehicle is put in reverse the solenoid valve closes and prevents pressure from reaching the brakes.

Make sure that when you are backing up that you do not try to force the trailer over a curb or a large rock because the added pressure could damage the master cylinder.

You will also want to add a solenoid shield like part # T4835800183 to protect the solenoid valve.
