Fit of Curt Class I Receiver # 11020 on 2012 Smart For Two Passion Convertible

WILL THE 11020 FIT AND ANY CONCERNS AS FAR AS TRMMING BUMPERS ETC. ? HAVE THE INSTRUCTIONS CHANGED FROM THOSE ON THE LINK DATED 6/16/2010?

According to my contact at Curt, the # 11020 Class I receiver will fit all models of the 2012 Smart ForTwo, except for the Brabus version.
Other than drilling one mounting hole on each side, enlarging holes with a dremel-type tool, and modifying a hole in the serpentine belt cover, there are no other modifications necessary like trimming the bumper fascia.
Per Curt warranty requirements, using a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 is required for non trailer loads like bike racks or cargo carriers. You will need to find a body edge at the rear of the vehicle to hook one edge of the strap to, as shown in the video I will link you to.
