Does Installation of etrailer e98840 Hitch Receiver on 2020 MDX Require Any Modifications to Body
Question:
Do you have to remove any part of the undercarriage of the vehicle to install other than the spare? The directions look as if you simply place, screw and wire. Thank you!

No, there isn't any lowering of the exhaust system or any other type of modifications to the undercarriage when installing the etrailer # e98840; it's actually one of the easier installations and should take roughly 30 minutes to complete. I've linked an installation video we did on a 2019 MDX that you might find helpful to follow along with during the process.
If you're going to be towing with this hitch, you'll also need a wiring harness, ball mount and hitch ball. For a wiring harness I recommend using the Tekonsha # 118628 because the powered converters are a bit more reliable than the other harnesses available. To complete your towing setup I recommend using the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which comes with 2 ball mounts with variable rise/drops, 2 hitch balls (1-7/8" and 2"), hitch pin, clip and storage bag. This would give you everything you would need to safely tow a smaller trailer.
As I mentioned, there are some installation videos linked to this answer for you to follow along with during the process.
