Does the Tow Hook Need to be Removed to Install Roadmaster Base Plates for 2003 Nissan Frontier

Question:

Hello: Your description of this part says it will fit my 2003 Frontier XE 4X4, but when I look at the part and then the frame underneath, I not so sure that is right. There is a tow hook there and it is part of a bracket that holds the bottom of the shock. This bracket is welded to the frame. Any thoughts?

I have confirmed with my contacts at Roadmaster and the part you indicated they called a recovery tow tab, and it is required for the installation of the # 327-3 base plate system. Do not remove this portion of your Frontier.

The recovery tow tabs actually provide a mounting point for the base plate system.
