What Is a Good Anti-Rattle Device for an 18 Inch Hitch Extender
Question:
Would the Malone anti rattle MPG908 device work? Is the curt 18inch extension too big for the uinch bolt to fit over? It seems like once you slide the extender into your vehicle receiver and put the pin in, you are only left with the larger size part of the extender tube to fit the uinch part over. What anti rattle device do you recommend for this 18inch extender?

Yes the Malone Anti-Rattle HitchLock System # MPG908 can work with the Curt Hitch Extender # C45796. In most applications a small amount of space rests between the larger portion of the extender and the collar of your vehicles hitch. The distance between the pin hole of the extender and the larger section of the extender is 3". This allows some room for the U-Bolt of the Malone anti-rattle device to fit.
With the u-bolt being 1/2" in diameter you would only need 2-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole of your hitch to the edge of the outermost part of the hitch.
I really like the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer for 2"Hitches # e99007. It is a similar design but we have added a vinyl coating to the u-bolt to help add a little more cushion to help with noise and movement. I attached a video below to show how it works.
