Do I Need to Use the Included Ground Wire With the Jensen 44US01R
Question:
I have a 2008 stick built travel trailer Skyline that I wish to replace the antenna. When I look at the current antenna, it connects to a cable that has no ground wire that I can see. Is one necessary? It would be a major headache to run a new cable through the roof to the FM/AM radio. I think you would also have to run a ground wire to it, and I am not sure what you would ground to.

You don't necessarily have to use the included ground wire on the Jensen # 44US01R, but as it was mentioned in the answer that you had looked at, it will help make sure you've got as clear of a signal as possible. With that said, I would think that it's likely that your current cable has a ground wire built into it that is grounded somewhere on the trailer already, so you probably don't need it.
If you find that you're having issues with interference once you've installed the new antenna, you can connect your own ground wire that you can run to somewhere on the exterior of the coach.
