You can install the Draw-Tite brake controller # 5504 on a 2007 Acura MDX. There are a few parts that you will need. First, if the vehicle does not already have a 4-Way trailer connector, you will need to add one using # 118424.
Once the 4-Way is installed or if you already have a 4-Way installed, you will need 4- and 7-Way installation kit # ETBC7. This will provide the 7-Way trailer connector and the wiring for the brake controller. I have included some instruction links and video that should help.
When it is time to install the brake controller red wire for the brake switch, you will need to use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993 if needed, to test the wires on the brake switch above the brake pedal. The correct wire could be a white and black striped wire, but you will need to test to be sure.
Use the circuit tester to find the wire that carries a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed and not one that also shows a signal when the headlights or turn signals are on. Once you have located the correct wire attach the brake controller red wire to it.
This installation should not interfere with the ABS or stability systems on the vehicle.
