Does Curt Hitch for 2003 Honda CR-V Require Stabilizer Strap to Carry E-Bike Rack
Question:
HI, Ive got a couple ebikes Im looking to haul on the back of a 2003 CRV. When looking at the class 3 offerings on the site I see one of them is recommended to use a stabilization strap and one doesnt. Do you know why that is? Is the more expensive rig more rigid or something?

Helpful Expert Reply:
At one point Curt used to require a stabilizer strap with some of their hitches when carrying a bike rack but they recently walked that back and it's no longer a requirement at all. So if you installed the Curt hitch # 13535 on your 2003 Honda CR-V you would not need to use a strap.
Then for an e-bike carrier the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider part # HLY84FR is a really great option and value. It's very easy to use and has the higher weight capacity needed for the e-bikes like what you have.
