Determining if 2020 Ford F-350 with OEM Rail Kit Can Tow Ceder Creek 5th Wheel Level
Question:
I have a 2020 F 350 Super duty crew FX4 4x4 8 foot bed with OEM 5th wheel prep package and the 20inch rims and tires. Im planning on buying the B W companion 25 k hitch for it. Also own 2004 Ceadecreek 30foot 5th wheel with tires size 235/85 R16. My question is can I get the trailer level and still have enough clearance between bed rails and over hang of trailer? If not what are your suggestion?

Here's how to determine if you'll have enough clearance to tow your fifth wheel with your 2020 Ford F-350 that has the OEM rail kit. Measure from the truck bed floor down to the ground and then measure from the pin box plate (not the king pin the plate it attaches to) down to the ground when the trailer is level. This will tell you what hitch height you'd need for the trailer to sit level. The Companion hitch that fits your OEM rail kit part # BWRVK3305 that you referenced has an adjustable height range of 16-3/4 inches to 18-3/4 inches.
Next you'll need to measure from the trailer overhang to the ground, and compare to the height from the ground to the trailer overhang. You'll want right at 6 inches of clearance here to be safe. Since it's an older trailer you might need more height from it which we can get from a lift kit like # RR23QX which can give you a 2-1/4 inch lift.
