In order to install a fifth wheel hitch that's compatible with industry-standard bed mounting rails like your Reese 16K hitch, you'll want to use the Demco # DM6333 that you'd looked at. The adapter drops into the in-bed pucks and latch into place, providing industry standard rails to mount your hitch. I've linked to a product description video featuring the adpater.
