There is one other part you will need so you can install a brake controller to your 2013 Ford Edge, the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
This will give you the 7-way connector, circuit breakers and rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller, and work with your '13 Edge's hitch like the Draw-Tite # 75992 and 4-Way Wiring Harness # 118515.
Once you have all of this installed the brake controller I recommend for your 2013 Ford Edge is the Brake EVN # TK63VR.
I really like the Brake EVN # TK63VR because it is a quality option that gives you smooth braking and is easy to use while also remaining affordable relative to other brake controllers. I recommend the I-Command because it represents the best value for a brake controller for your 2013 Ford Edge. To use a brake controller you will need the correct wiring adapter, and for the Brake EVN that is the Brake Control Plug-In Harness # 20127.
I have added links to video reviews and installations for you to check out as well.
