Expert Reply:
The most heavy duty trailer hitch available for a 2013 Ford Explorer is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76034 which is rated for 4,500 lbs of gross trailer weight and 675 lbs of tongue weight. The gross trailer weight rating can even be increased to 5,000 lbs if using a weight distribution system. I have attached an install video for you as well if you need help but as there are only four bolts it will be super simple.
Please note, in order to provide lights to the trailer you will also need a trailer wiring harness if you don't already have one and for this I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56306 if you need a 7-way or part # C56172 if you only need a 4-way.
