What Is Towing Capacity of 2016 Ford Escape with Draw Tite 1-1/4 inch Trailer Hitch

hi, i purchased aDraw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4inch for my 2016 Escape. Im looking at a 7x17 dual axle equipment trailer. Im curious if itll be to much for the hitch or for my escape? I tried to save a photo of the trailer but it wasnt working.

It looks like your 2016 Ford Escape has a towing capacity between 1,500 and 2,000 lbs and the Draw Tite hitch you have installed part # 36529 or # 36524 has a trailer towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. This means your overall towing setup is limited to the capacity of the vehicle which would be lower. You'll have to determine the weight of your trailer and what you plan to carry with it to know if you have the capacity.
