Troubleshooting a Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller for Constant Power on a the Output Circuit

On GM truck, why do I have power on blue wire without stepping on brake pedal when trailer not plugged in?

It sounds there might be an issue on the stoplight signal wire. You will want to check the red wire for voltage only when the brakes are applied and none when the brakes are not being applied. If you have voltage on this circuit all the time the brake controller will think that the brakes are always being applied and it will activate the trailer brakes all the time.

I would test the functionality of all the wires on your Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller # 39510 just to be sure. I attached an FAQ on brake controllers for you to check out also.
