Replacement Heavy Duty Equalizer Upgrade for 13-10 Equalizer

Question:

I want to replace the hard equalizer 13-10 with a more absorbent equalizer, the kit you mention that is the replacement K71-652-00 to me does not look like it has the 4inch , and after installing it look like the wheel clearance is reduced. Can you confirm this is the correct replacement for my Heartland 5th wheel??

I'll start by saying that since the EZ Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System # K71-652-00 is not wider than the leaf springs, it's not going to reduce the clearance from your wheels in any way.

When it comes to your 13-10 equalizer, it is the is equivalent to the Triangular Equalizer for 1-3/4" Double-Eye Springs - 6-1/16" Long - 9/16" Center Hole # TREQ310. With your current equalizer being 6-1/16" long, you can use the 5-5/8" long EZ Flex system on your Heartland 5th wheel trailer since it will work for equalizers between 5-1/4" and 6-1/4"; you will also need to confirm that the axles are spaced 33" apart.

While it is not going to be 4" from the center of the bottom bolt hole to the center of the top bolt hole when unloaded, this kit can still be used since that spacing will change as weight is applied to the suspension system. The height isn't as important as the length of the equalizer in this case because of the changing dimensions of this equalizer with the rubber core compressing.

I've linked some of our informational and installation videos on this equalizer upgrade that you might find helpful, as well.
